Snowbella is the ice blue eyed wolf husky in many of the pictures on this website.  I found Snowbella 2 years ago when she was left and the street and originally found by a couple who could not keep her.  I went to meet and foster her but found a dog who saved my life and gave me a new path.  This website and all that has been and will be developed, especially the lives of the many innocent dogs we will help to save and the people whose lives will change because they can now find their own “Snowbella”, is because of that meeting.

Kavik is the golden eyed greyish husky who I also found on the street.  I was not intending on keeping him either. Mila is my amazing bright, creative, adventurous and beautiful daughter whose pictures are scattered through out this website with the rescue dogs who have impacted and shaped our lives.  Shayna, the white german shepherd was my first dog followed immediately by Devo my first whippet who came into my life because my veterinarian sister convinced me 2 dogs are better than 1.  I would never admit she was right.  Prada, our next whippet, replaced Shayna.

Devo and Prada were Mila’s first dogs. Devo who was amazing with baby Mila set the bar for all of whippets and dogs.  Some foolish family gave up on her because they were having a child.  I am so glad they did.  We found and adopted Wiggins, our third whippet, because his original male adopter was abusive.  He was a champion show dog but not good enough to keep his……  He was shown by a 5 yo girl and immediately upon becoming a part of our family, he forged an amazing unbreakable bond with Mila.  (He was not a fan of adult males for awhile.)  He was Mila’s best friend and they shared the ups and downs of life for 8 plus years.  He was always present for her until last August when it was time for him to cross that rainbow bridge and join our other amazing whippets.  He will always be with Mila.   This website and the dogs we save are all tributes to those dogs that have helped form who we are and those who continue to shape us as we move forward.

Which takes us to Snowbella and Kavik, our 2 huskies that I never intended to own.  I thought whippets were my future for dogs.  They have proved me wrong.  Plus, I have always wanted a wolf.  They are helping us forge our next adventure while we  work with rescue groups, dog lovers, shelters and others to stop the killing of innocent dogs and allow others to understand the true meaning of unconditional love that comes from bonding with a rescue dog.
